FMOnlineHORIZON · BROWSER PREVIEW
VERSION 0.1.2 · DESKTOP CHROME & EDGE

Your browser.
Your corner of the web.

Bring a local browsing tab into FMOnline. Websites use your computer and internet connection, while your conversations stay close.

This is a test version, not a Chrome Web Store or Edge Add-ons release. No automatic installation. Firefox, Safari, mobile browsers, and embedded app browsers are not supported by this preview.

ALREADY INSTALLED?

Fix the blank browser view.

Version 0.1.2 fixes the “Illegal invocation” error and blank view introduced in 0.1.1. It keeps the compact controls and scrolling improvements. No new permissions.

Download and extract the new ZIP, then replace the files in the folder you originally loaded. When you’re ready to end your current browser connection, open your browser’s extension manager and click Reload on FMOnline Browser. Return to FMOnline and reconnect from the extension icon.

Your FMOnline sign-in stays in place. If the compact controls already appear, the website is up to date; replace and reload the extension, then reconnect. If the old double row is still showing, refresh FMOnline at a convenient moment.

Set up in Chrome or Edge

  1. Download and extract

Save the ZIP above, then extract it to a folder you’ll keep. The extension folder contains manifest.json.

  2. Open your extension manager

Paste chrome://extensions into your browser’s address bar.

    In Edge, use edge://extensions.

  3. Load the preview

Enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the extracted extension folder. Review the browser’s permission notice.

  4. Connect from FMOnline

Return to your existing FMOnline tab. Open the browser’s extensions menu, select FMOnline Browser — Preview, then choose Connect this FMOnline tab. You can keep your current FMOnline session open.

  5. Browse inside Horizon

Enter a website or search in FMOnline’s address bar. Keep the dedicated browsing tab open. The view includes Back, Forward, Reload, Open tab, and Disconnect.

What stays local

The extension displays images of its dedicated browser tab inside FMOnline and sends your clicks and typing back to that tab. It has no browsing proxy, analytics endpoint, or server upload. Websites, downloads, and video use your connection directly.

Your normal browser cookies and sign-ins apply in the dedicated tab. The extension does not read or save your passwords, cookies, or unrelated browsing history.

Know the preview’s limits

The browser shows a debugger/control notice while connected. You can stop from that notice or the extension. The code controls only the tab it creates.

Video can be less smooth in the mirrored view. Audio plays from the actual browser tab. Some sign-ins, downloads, pop-ups, permission prompts, protected media, and accessible browsing work best with Open tab.

Closing FMOnline’s browser window or choosing Disconnect closes its dedicated browsing tab. Minimizing keeps it connected. If the browser revokes control, the tab stays open.
