FMOnline BrowserPREVIEW 0.1.0

Local browsing, explained.

September 6, 2026 · This describes the extension preview, separately from FMOnline’s chat, music, and account services.

What the extension does

After you press Connect in its popup, the extension creates one dedicated browsing tab for that FMOnline tab. It displays captured page images inside an extension-owned view embedded in FMOnline, and forwards mouse, keyboard, scroll, and navigation actions to its browsing tab.

What is stored or transmitted

Website requests go directly from your browser to the websites you visit. The extension does not send browsing traffic, captured images, typing, passwords, or cookies to an FMOnline server or another relay. It contains no analytics or remote logging.

Connection identifiers and the last requested address are held in Chrome/Edge’s local session storage for recovery while the browser is running. They are removed when the connection ends. The extension does not store full browsing history. Your browser itself maintains its normal history, cookies, downloads, and signed-in sessions.

FMOnline’s address bar receives the current page URL locally so navigation and saved places work. Addresses you explicitly star are stored by FMOnline on this device. Website addresses can contain private information; this extension does not send them to an FMOnline endpoint.

Why these permissions appear

Your controls

Disconnect from the embedded view or extension popup to end control and close the dedicated tab. Closing FMOnline’s browser window does the same. The browser’s debugger notice can also stop control; the browsing tab remains open in that case. Removing or disabling the extension prevents further control.

Preview limitations

This uses an experimental browser capture API. There is no store listing or automatic extension updater yet. Some native browser dialogs, sign-ins, pop-ups, protected video, and assistive-technology workflows require the real browsing tab. Use Open tab for those actions. Permission dialogs are never automatically accepted by the extension.
